Ecology, Literature, Politics

Considering several works by Richard Russo, John Maxwell Coetzee, Cormac MacCarthy, Frank Schatzing, Don DeLillo, Michel Tournier, Michel Houellebecq and Jonathan Franzen, world literature is increasingly concerned with ecological issues that challenge our time, and finds fault with a way of living that could eventually lead to extinction. The political and social stakes of the ecological movements, as well as the imprint they live on literature should thoroughly be discussed and presented.
