THESSALONIKI INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR
The Thessaloniki Book Fair opened in May 2004 and set a new objective: to place Greece on the map of the international book fairs by creating a new keystone of cultural and commercial exchanges in the field of global publishing production. This four-day Book Fair, which is organized by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, is the most important annual event for the book. It is the meeting point for hundreds of publishers, writers, translators, literary agents, journalists, booksellers, librarians, foundations, bodies and organizations for the book in Greece, the Balkans, Western Europe, South-Eastern Europe and from all over the world. It is an invitation on behalf of the world of books to the readers, who embrace it eagerly every year (its loyal visitors exceed 60.000 people and they come from Thessaloniki and all over Greece), and it is regarded as one of the most prominent cultural events in our country.
The Act “Thessaloniki International Book Fair” is part of the Operational Programme “Central Macedonia 2014-2020” (Integrated Information System 5002343) and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
